Open Days at CERN

Credit : CERN
Abstract
The open day is a regular feature of the “long shutdown” during which the LHC stop, to benefit from upgrades and renovation work. During this time, the CERN opens its doors to the public for two days with visits of both the underground and the surface, involving about 2 800 volunteers. Each visit point offers about 3-4 hour activities : visits of the facilities, experiments, labs and events.
